Pet Safe Plants

“Fairy Washboard"

Haworthiopsis Limifolia “Fairy Washboard" is a succulent native to southern Africa. It is a member of the Asphodelaceae family. It has tightly-packed rosettes of dark green leaves with pronounced ridges or striations. When it flowers in spring and summer, it produces green and white tubular flowers on a long inflorescence extending from the center of the rosette.

Black Rose

Aeonium Arboreum “Black Rose" is a cultivated succulent from Morocco in the Crassulaceae family.  The purple-black leaves form rosette-like cascades. The fleshy leaves are thin, forming a daisy-shaped rosette of leaves. The leaf margins have white eyelash-like teeth, and the leaves are blackish purple. This plant grows in the winter and is dormant briefly in summer. The leaves could get greenish purple if they don't receive sufficient sunlight. It is normal for the bottom leaves to wither in summer when the plant is dormant.

Echeveria Laui

Echeveria Laui is a member of the Crassulaceae family. It is native to Mexico. It has blue-grey-white powdery leaves and produces peachy-rose flowers.

Parlor Palm

Chamaedorea Elegans “Parlor Palm" is a member of the Arecaceae family. It is native to southern Mexico and northern Central America. While it prefers bright indirect light, it can tolerate lower light conditions. Under ideal conditions, the Parlor Palm can grow up to 5 feet high indoors.

Molded Wax Agave

Echeveria Agavoides “Molded Wax Agave" is a member of the Crassulaceae family. This succulent forms tight rosettes of fleshy, apple-green leaves that have reddish pink edges most pronounced toward the dark red terminal spine. In spring and early summer, the plant produces red flowers with  yellow tips flowers. At maturity, the plant reaches approximately 14 inches in diameter.

Barrel Cactus

Echinocactus “Barrel Cactus" is a group of five species with a round, ball-like shape. It is a member of the Cactaceae family and is native to the Southwestern United States and Mexico.

Ladyfinger Cactus

Mammillaria Elongata “Ladyfinger Cactus" is a member of the Cactaceae family and native to central Mexico. It is named for finger-like stems. Under the right conditions, Ladyfinger Cactus blooms in pale pink to yellow-colored flowers in the spring.

Maranta Leuconeura "Lemon Lime"

Maranta Leuconeura “Lemon Lime" is a member of the Marantaceae family. It is native to tropical regions of South America. It has beautiful striped leaves and blooms with small white flowers. It is widely known as the prayer plant due to its daily sunlight-dependent movements. 

Pilea Peperomioides “Chinese Money Plant”

Pilea Peperomioides is a member of the Urticaceae (nettle) family and has coin-shaped leaves. It is also known as the “Chinese Money Plant” and is native to Southern China. It is an easy care plant which needs  bright, indirect light and normal to high indoor humidity. It is also an excellent air purifier, and is pet safe.

Calathea Concinna "Freddie"

Calathea Concinna "Freddie" is a member of the Marantaceae family. It is native to tropical regions of South America. The Freddie has dramatic light green leaves striped with dark green and is pet safe.

Staghorn Fern

Platycerium bifurcatum is a member of the Polypodiaceae (polyp) family. Native to the Indonesian island of Java through tropical Australia and New Caledonia, the Staghorn Fern is now commonly grown as a houseplant. It is pet safe.

Maidenhair Fern

Adiantum Capilus-Veneris is native to temperate and tropical regions worldwide, including the southern half of the USA. It is a member of the Pteridaceae family. This plant adds lovely lush greenery, prefers moist soil, and is pet safe.

Lemon Button Fern

Nephrolepis Cordifolia “Dufii" is a member of the Nephrolepidaceae family. It is a sweet smelling and vibrant plant which is also completely pet safe.

Pilea Peperomioides “Mojito”

Pilea Peperomioides “Mojito” is rare plant which is a member of the Urticaceae (nettle) family. It is also known as the “Variegated Chinese Money Plant” and is native to Southern China. It is an easy care plant which needs  bright, indirect light and normal to high indoor humidity. It has coin-shaped leaves, each uniquely patterned with mottled with splashes of creamy-white variegation. Pilea Peperomioides “Mojito” is also an excellent air purifier and is pet safe.

Calathea Rattlesnake

This striking plant belongs to the Marantaceae family and is also known as Calathea Iancifolia or Goeppertia insignis. It is native to tropical regions of Brazil. The tops of its long, light green leaves which almost appear as if they have been painted with dark green paint in an intricate pattern of brush strokes and dots, while the leaves' undersides are a gorgeous deep purple.
